You basically go back in time with booths that scream old with actual etchings in the wood. Service is lovely and food though simple in their selections, is very tasty. Then you get to walk Palmer Square. A lovely way to spend a day!
Awesome bar at the Nassau, look for Jill or Lauren, they will take awesome care of you. Need to try the Barley wine
Historic pub that feels like a living history lesson of Princeton's alum. Food is solid - French onion soup is notable. Service has always been friendly, though not remarkably expedient. It's not uncommon to wait to be noticed while wanting to order a drink at the bar. That said, take your time here and look around at some of the historical aspects and drink-in the legacy of this gem.
Nice atmosphere but the service was lackluster. I ordered one of their own brews on tap, took a couple of sips and pushed it away. Not a word from the bartender. I expected some kind of recognition that it was not to my liking. The bar wasn't crowded. There were plenty of empty tables and stools. But, not a word to see if we needed anything or why I wasn't drinking the beer. Oh well. My once-a-decade visit has been fulfilled. Cross it off my list.
Best French Onion soup I ever had. Staff was efficient and courteous. The Rockwell mural behind the bar is stellar.
