We stayed here in August 2018, for my sons wedding. There were about 55 guests that stayed here, in various accomodation. We had a 1 bedroom cabin. It was lovely. Deck, kitchen lounge and spa and clean. Most guests had multi day stay. The hall for reception was well equipped, and after some wedding decorations were put up, looked great. The lake area was nice for get together barbecue. We found the staff courteous and very helpful. Wonderful place for a wedding or family reunion.

This is a hidden gem of a campground. Great spots, hot showers and walking trails. There are also peacocks you can feed your leftovers to.

tl;dr: Do not stay here unless the property has some serious maintenance and improvements, not even for the quirky factor.Stayed for one night mid week in August in a Creekside Cabin. So weird for all the wrong reasons:1. Maintenance of the property - garbage and random stuff strewn about. Dead and dehydrated frog in the washroom along with many dead bugs and live carpenter ants everywhere (cabin and washrooms). Random items just randomly tossed about at the 'lake'. Playground completely unsafe feeling, a bit shocking that it's even there tbh. Did not let our child on the equipment for fear of injury. Bed super uncomfortable, ants kept my husband from sleeping in it after one crawled on his back.Cabin smelled weird, like no one had stayed in it for a long time.2. Abandoned feeling - no staff at office, few people around to make it feel like anything but a horror movie backdrop.3. Boil water advisory - maybe? - No one mentioned when booking or when checking in, but there was a poster in the bathroom telling us to not drink the tap water as per the health authority. A bit concerning when we were travelling with a young child. Old water jug in the cabin had been sitting there for who knows how long. Overall YUCK.4. Cold showers - no hot water in the bathroom building, so no showers for us. Of course, couldn't follow up with anyone about this as there was NO ONE AROUND. Maybe if someone had cleaned the bathrooms they would have noticed the water situation. The good:1. Creek was cool and pleasant to wade in.2. Saw a doe and two young fawns and two sharp tailed grouse. Likely they were around because there were so few people.3. 'Castle' backdrop is kind of cool-weird, not bad-weird like the rest of the place.4. Girl at check-in was new but very friendly seeming.

We stayed here recently for a family getaway with over 10 people including four small children. It is a scenic place. Lots of activities for everyone , especially in the snow. The kids enjoyed playing in the snow and tobogganing. The cabin itself is nice. Huge patio. Kitchen was not so well appointed and was missing adequate cutlery and plates/cups as well as some cooking equipment. Staff was great at providing replacements when asked. There were only two bathrooms in the cabin which made for bathroom lineups at times, but was manageable. Overall, great place to stay.

Laid back clean and tidy will come back definitely
